PENELAKUT ART

A Gallery of the Artists of Kuper Island, BC, Canada

 
Kuper Island belongs to the Penelakut First Nations Tribe, and is located in the southern Gulf Islands chain in the Strait of Georgia, off the east coast of Vancouver Island. There are approximately 300 band members who live on-reserve on Kuper Island and the Tsussie Rd. Reserve in Westholme, and there are approximately 500 members who live off-reserve lands. The Penelakut are part of the Coast Salish (Salishan) linguistic group, and share in that extensive cultural heritage.
